Half Empty or
Half Full
In Half Empty of Half Full, I used a mirror as both my canvas and metaphor to confront the hidden, greed-driven aspects of my character. It is often difficult to acknowledge our less admirable qualities, but I believe that recognizing them is essential for personal growth. By painting directly onto a mirror, I forced myself to face the reflection of these internal struggles—both literally and symbolically.
Many of us harbor desires for material excess—dreaming of wealth, luxurious homes, and a more extravagant lifestyle. I, too, have found myself caught in the web of wanting more. However, through this work, I ask a question: Do I really need more to live happily, or have I already been given enough? My work explores the delicate balance between contentment and desire, reminding me to appreciate the simple, secure space I have in this vast, demanding world.
Ultimately, this piece challenges the viewer to reflect on their own lives.
Is your life half-empty or half-full?
